Female Hormones Clarity 31

Female Hormones Clarity 31 looks at 31 biomarkers covering reproductive hormones, thyroid and adrenal activity, lipid balance, blood sugar and nutritional status. For best accuracy, test LH, FSH and oestrogen around days 2 to 5 of your cycle, and progesterone around day 21.

Markers Included

  • Albumin: The main protein in blood, important for fluid balance and transporting hormones and medicines.
  • Ferritin: Reflects your iron reserves. Low ferritin can cause fatigue, hair loss and low blood oxygen-carrying capacity.
  • Calcium: Vital for bone strength, nerve signalling and muscle function.
  • Corrected Calcium: Calcium adjusted for albumin concentration.
  • Cholesterol: Total cholesterol. Influenced by diet, weight, activity, genetics.
  • HDL: "Good" cholesterol that helps remove excess cholesterol from arteries.
  • HDL Cholesterol %: The percentage of total cholesterol made up of HDL.
  • HDL:Cholesterol Ratio: HDL divided by total cholesterol.
  • LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) Cholesterol: Often called "bad" cholesterol.
  • Non-HDL Cholesterol: Total cholesterol minus HDL.
  • Triglycerides: A type of fat carried in the blood. Influenced by recent meals, alcohol, weight and activity.

  • Luteinising Hormone (LH): Pituitary hormone that triggers ovulation. Levels vary across the cycle.
  • Prolactin: A pituitary hormone involved in lactation and broader reproductive function.
  • Progesterone: A hormone involved in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy and hormonal balance. Best measured in the second half of the cycle.
  • DHEA-S (Dehydroepiandrosterone-Sulphate): An adrenal hormone that the body uses as a building block for other sex hormones.
  • Oestradiol: The main form of oestrogen, involved in the menstrual cycle, reproductive health and bone health.
  • Testosterone: An androgen hormone involved in muscle, bone, mood and libido.
  • Free Androgen Index: A ratio of total testosterone to SHBG.
  • Free Testosterone (Calculated): The biologically active fraction of testosterone.
  • SHBG: A protein that binds to sex hormones and influences how much is freely available.
  • Cortisol: The main adrenal stress hormone. Best measured in the morning between 8 and 10am.
  • Free T3: The biologically active thyroid hormone, involved in metabolic rate and energy.
  • Free T4: The main circulating thyroid hormone, converted to FT3 in the body.
  • TSH: A pituitary hormone that controls thyroid activity.
  • Active B12: The biologically usable form of vitamin B12. Important for nerve function and red cell production.
  • Magnesium: A mineral involved in muscle and nerve function, energy and sleep.
  • Serum Folate: A B vitamin important for DNA synthesis and cell production.
  • Vitamin D (25 OH): A fat-soluble vitamin that supports calcium absorption, bone health and immune function.
